What is the best way to start a small side business helping people with their resumes?
So I helped some Friends and family members for editing and formatting their resumes and I think I have something good enough for her. I am great with MS Word and can really make an average of resume look professional and attractive. I thought I could probably make some money off of this skill in helping others to improve their resumes, but am not really sure where to start, what I need qualifications (if any), amounts billing, etc. I am not a career counselor and would essentially be just change the wording and presentation of curriculum vitae, letters and selection criteria. What do you think? Is this something interesting reading? What is a reasonable price to charge? And is it possible to do this kind of work by e-mail and phone only? Appreciate all your thoughts about this!
This seems like an excellent idea but it must be a way to find clients. If you have a wide circle of fried maybe you could make a little money on the side. However, I do not think you could get enough work into a full-time career.
