what commision should i pay a proj. manager who brings in a new client, when his primary job is management?
I looked all over the internet for example commission rates, or finders fee rates and I found nothing. This person is the 3rd employee of my small company and 90% of his time is spent managing projects. However, he does some business development, and it just so happened that he brought in what could be our biggest client yet. He deserves to be compensated for his sale, but the question is how much? We want to give him a commission as a percentage of revenue or profit from this client. He believe the commission rate should be between 15 and 30%, but I feel that is high since this person’s primary job is not a sales person. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?
Give him same percentage as you pay your
business promoters.
Since its your biggest project you can even
think about paying him a higher percentage
than usual. Or else it could set a bad mindset
among employees.
